How Signal works. We update this page whenever the policy changes; the last update date is at the bottom.
What we publish
Original analysis, comparisons, and explainers across our five pillars. We don't publish press-release re-writes. Every story has to either advance a reader's understanding, save them time, or help them make a better decision. If a story doesn't clear that bar, we don't ship it.
Sources
- Primary sources are linked inline. If we cite a benchmark, it links to the benchmark.
- For claims that aren't easily linkable (e.g. a vendor told us X), we say so explicitly.
- We never cite AI output as fact. AI is a research aid, not a source.
- Anonymous sources are used sparingly and only when on-record sourcing is impossible.
How we use AI
We use large language models throughout our workflow. Specifically:
- Research. Summarizing papers, building first-draft chronologies, surfacing related work.
- Structure. Outlining arguments, suggesting headlines, drafting Q&A.
- First drafts. Some pieces start with an AI draft. A human writer then rewrites, adds reporting, and owns the published result.
- Fact-checking. A separate AI pass flags claims that need a source.
- Visuals. Diagrams and illustrations are often AI-assisted. Stock-style "AI art" is avoided.
Every piece carries an AI-use disclosure at the bottom when AI's role went beyond standard research assistance.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it visibly. Material corrections add a dated note at the top. Email amg@demandnexus.io.
Tool reviews and comparisons
- We test every tool we recommend. No "based on the website" reviews.
- We disclose any affiliate links inline and again at the bottom of the piece.
- Verdicts and rankings are decided by the writer and editor, never by a vendor or sponsor.
Conflicts of interest
Writers disclose any holding or relationship that touches a story they're covering. Pieces about Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and similar are reviewed by a second editor.
Privacy and tracking
We use privacy-respecting analytics (aggregate page views, no individual tracking). The newsletter is opt-in only.
